Daily Examples of differencies in EU countries
Each EU country has different LAW, different BUSINESS CULTURE and different MORAL STANDARDS for insurance related matters. For Example in Germany You can send Excel file to Insurance company with Your own calculations of for example lost freight costs due to an accident. They will accept the file and consider (or not) Your calculations, where for example in Poland You would have to get this same calculations from qualified accountant with company stamp, so forget about Excel. In Spain You can forget about replacement vehicle after accident, where in other countries it's pretty obvious claim element.

ENGLAND & UK
Thus CMR Convention applies, its is very rare that people there know about it. UK is not in EU anymore therefore all out of court and in court proceedings are really hard. Make sure that CMR letter is signed as sometimes warehouse man does not want to sign this which later creates problems.
FRANCE
Unfortunatelly French companies and authorities are not willing to communicate in English, therefore for every even simple case we need our French advocats coleagues which generates extra costs. Typical MTPL accidents are paid in around 6 months based on invoices, its is hard to get some extra money for replacement truck.
GERMANY
There is an order in documents, however German companies in most cases forget CMR convention and apply their own local law and rules. Typical MTPL accident case is closed within 3 months, repair invpoices are not always required. There could be very realistic "fictive" claim settlement with labour hours c.80 EUR/hour.
ITALY
Our Italian coleagues are always on vacation : ) some cases are dealt by them for even 12 months, In general Italian companies are asking lots of questions but they are decent payers if all damages etc are well documented with lots of pictures, maps, explanations etc. We also use Our local coleagues
POLAND
Insures are always trying to find a way to decline CMR claim and unfortunatelly this happens very often, as CMR Insurance is not compulsory in Poland.There is huge difference in fictive and based on invoices repair costs. Most wide and actractive local law for duration of replacement vehicle after claim.
SPAIN
Very strict local law on reporting a claim after maximum of 12 months after accident. Really big problems with replacement vehicles after claim. Rearding CMR claims they process such claims for a long time and require local advicate to represent Client, which again increases costs of such services.
